SILVER SURFERS
The Silver Surf Club has been developed following consultation with over a hundred older Loughton residents. It is part of our programme to increase social inclusion.  It aims to link activities and tools which make it easy for older people tom make connections with other like-minded people.   It does not offer an IT course, but familiarisation with the Internet through the use of IPads.  It gives them more choices - to discover activities, to interact on social media, to use Skype to contact loved ones, and for online communities such as playing scrabble, and other games. Peer-to-peer learning is encouraged. No previous experience is needed and either you can use your own iPad or use an LVC iPad. There is no charge for the club. The scheme was piloted in February 2015 with the help of Barclays Bank, Loughton and LVC plans to roll it out at a variety of venues in Loughton, including pubs, cafes and community facilities. Attendance is by invitation only; if you are interested in coming to the Silver Surf club, please register by phoning the office on (020) 8508 6114 or completing the application form and emailing to info@loughtonvoluntarycare.co.uk Download Application Form
